The Modern Farrah Fawcett |
| |
| |
We are seeing a lot of soft, textured, romantic curls on long and mid-length hair in the media right now. This look is inspired by the famous Farrah Fawcett style which has been interpreted to complement today’s trendy fashions. |

HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK: |
| |
1.
Part your hair on the diagonal, on either side, into 3 sections. |
| |
2.
Start with the first section by curling the hair away from the face with the Babyliss Pro Professional Ceramic Curling Iron with Pointy Barrel ($89.95). This curling iron gives the soft, flowing curls that have a different diameter throughout (traditional curling irons tend to make curls more barrel-shaped and even). |
| |
3.
Move to the second parting and again curl the hair away from the face. |
| |
4.
Repeat with the third parting OR you could choose not to curl this section at all for a more casual look. If you would like a more formal style, curl this part under or towards your face. |

Note: Do not hold the curl in the iron for more than 10 seconds. If your desired result is more textured vs. curled look, hold for less than 10 seconds.

| |
| |
Another very popular style we are seeing being worn by young celebrities is mid-length or long hair that is down and framing the face with soft waves and curls. It can be worn tousled and bit messy for a casual day look or, for a more formal presentation, with defined curls. |

1. |
Spray hair with a light to medium hold spray such as Aveda's Air Control ($34). |
| |
2.
Starting from each ear, part your hair in diagonal sections working back to the nape. You should have three sections on each side. |
| |
3. |

Curl your hair away from the face. |

Braids |
| |
One style highly favored by young celebrities right now is mid-length to long hair that is slightly textured with individual parts braided for added interest. A spiral curling iron is recommended as it is much easier to use than a conventional curling iron. |

HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK: |
| |
1. |
Part your hair in diagonal sections. |
| |
2.
Using the curling iron, wrap hair around the barrel and roll away from the face. Hold for 5 seconds, release, and move to the next section. Bring the back sections to either side to make curling easier. |
| |
3.
Spray the hair with Bumble and bumble spray de mode ($32.75) for flexible hold. To give hair a softer texture and separate the curls, run your fingers through your hair. |
| |
4.
Part the hair, either in the middle or to one side. |
| |
5.
Separate a 2-inch wide section from the part to your ear. Do this on both sides. Make a braid starting from the part and stop just before the ear. Secure with small elastic. Take a few strands and wrap around the elastic and secure in place with a pin. |
| |
6. |
Spray the braid sections with more spray and pull a few strands along each braid to soften the look. |

How to achieve this look: |
| |
1. |
Spray your dry hair with Bumble and bumble surf spray ($29.50). |
| |
2. |
Part your hair to the far side (you are creating a deep side part). |
| |
3. |
Brush the hair with your fingers (you want to keep the texture you created by using the Surf Spray). |
| |
4.
Pull all of your hair to the opposite side of your parting and, starting at the nape of the neck, make a loose braid. Use a small, invisible elastic to secure the braid. |
| |
5. |
To create texture, run your fingers up the braid to loosen up the finer hairs. |
